Station adopters
A 'Station Adopter' scheme would aim to help improve links between First Capital Connect, local communities and customers living near unstaffed railway stations.
Unstaffed stations should be kept as clean and pleasant environments. This scheme would encourage regular feedback about the facilities at the station to help make sure they meet the high standards that customers want.
There would be a need for volunteers who are interested in the good standards of their local train station, who would be called 'station adopters', to report on litter, graffiti, vandalism, lighting, information help points and timetable information.
As an adopter, there would… more

Travel Miles, rewards for those of us who travel regularly.
Provide a travel mile system (or something similar) so that those of us who commute regularly over long distances will see some sort of reward, as it is unlikely First Capital Connect will lower train costs.

TFL and First should work together
You are both working towards the same goal; providing the best possible service for your customers. So why don't you work together. If there are problems with one of the services the other should also act to help inform people. On that awful snow day I was travelling from hammersmith to cuffley. The guy at hammersmith could not tell me if the trains were running from Finsbury park and to contact First - no contact details available. Therefore I had to board a train at 11.30pm and hope that they were still running at the other end because if they… more

Thanks very much for your suggestion.
We do work very closely with all of our industry partners. I’m not entirely sure what devices London Underground use to pass on information to customers. There are some things that you can look at before or while you are travelling as well that will give you the information that you need and really help you out. This can be found here. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/ldb/

Days out for local charities
First Capital Connect can build relationships with local charities by offering free of charge days out by train. Additional activities could be included, like cab rides and use of FCC's driver simulator.
Do you know of any local charities that would be interested in this? Are there any other activities that could be offered?

You might want to have a word with NHDC with its plans to carpet bomb the area surrounding Knebworth station with double yellow lines
Knebworth gets a lot of commuters driving into the village each day and I would hope that they do help contribute to local businesses. NHDC appear to want to eradicate anyone who drives into the village and wants to stay parked on the public highway for more than 1 or 2 hours. I think this will harm Knebworth as the commuters will go somewhere else or pursue other ways of travelling that don't include using FCC services.

Hi there, Graham
I can see what you mean by this. Let me pass this on to one of my colleagues who deals with our council partnerships. However from experience this might be a tricky one to resolve for you. But we will see what we can do.
As soon as I have any further information I will get back to you.
Sorry if I misunderstood you the first time round. This site is very new for us and we are learning as we go along.

Increase frequency for local service between London and Luton/St Albans Route
Local service is 4 trains per hour. However, First Capital connect can easily increase the service by getting semt-fast train stop at alternative local stations during peak hours.

Railway Enthusiasts
Hello FCC, I have an Idea that can Help Railway Enthusiasts Enjoy the railway, and also help you Maintain safety and security on your network,
My idea would be this ,
Any railway Enthusiasts who intend on taking photos or videos of your Trains / Services should have a spercific Text FCC number like 12345 and Text Location and expected Duration at said location,
Also if Enthusiasts are besides the track they can Text 12345 and Inform you of location, This will help FCC establish patterns and known Hotspots of Railway Enthusiasts,
Advantages of the system would be If FCC… more
